You want your outdoor space to reflect your personality and sense of style. You want your surroundings to offer you the delight, peace and beauty of a natural setting. Our skilled designers will meet with you to create a design that incorporates your vision.

Michael Beeck, founder, owner, and designer these are just a few hats that he wears. Starting Otter Creek Landscaping out of his home, it has blossomed into a full-service landscaping company. Offering design services, installation, irrigation, night lighting, and maintenance, we are able to meet our customer’s needs. Michael attended Milwaukee Area Technical College for horticultural design. He has received several awards for his design skills. The most recent is a gold award from the Milwaukee Home Magazine for best landscape design.

John Harris joined our team in 2005, a registered landscape architect, with the State of Wisconsin. His degree comes form the University of Wisconsin Madison in Landscape Architecture. With 17 years of experience in public, residential and commercial landscape and design, he enjoys the design process of listening to his clients and providing solutions to their landscaping needs. Drawings range from conceptual and perspective sketches, to detailed construction documents and fully rendered color plans. John enjoys drawing by hand feeling it offers a more personal touch.

Becky Scholten has been with us for years. Starting with us when she was a student attending classes at MATC, she has worked on our landscaping crew and in our garden center. This experience has made her a well rounded designer. Becky has a degree in Horticultural with an emphasis in landscaping design and garden center management, graduating at the top of her class. She is sure to find the right look for your project.

Cheryl WalshCheryl Walsh joined our team while attending MATC in 2006.  She graduated with a Landscape Maintenance and Garden Center Management degree.   She also had a focus on design.  Cheryl uses her skills to keep the John Michael Kohler Arts Centers Gardens in looking pristine.   When she isn’t meeting with client or designing landscapes you will find her working on one of the install and maintenance teams.   Her talent for understanding clients and their needs makes her a great asset.

When you work with our design professionals, they will set an appointment to visit you at your project site. Once there, they will ask some important questions:

  • What are your overall goals?
  • What functional needs do you have?
  • What are your property lines?
  • What type of look are you going for?
  • What level of maintenance would you prefer?
  • What colors do you like?
  • What types of plants to you like?

After we have answered these questions, we will put a plan together for you. This plan will be one that can be implemented by yourself, or you may use our services to install. Every plan can be implemented in phases. We can guide you on the installation requirements. Plans can range in cost from $100-$1000, depending on the scope of your project. If you choose to install your own project, you will receive 10% off any plant material that you purchase from us. If you choose to have one of our trained team members perform the work, part of your design fee will revert back to the installation cost.

This is not the only way we can assist you. If you have a small project that needs some creative look, bring a picture in and one of our garden team members can assist you in making choices.
